Not everything can be 100% green, but small changes can lead to big differences.
A great way to conserve is to fix leaky faucets around your home. Average house hold leaks can cause up to 10,000 gallons of water lost per year (epa.gov). Faucets aren't the only culprits, leaking toilets are a huge contributors as well.
Maintaining a well designed solar system is a sure way of getting your money's worth. Clean solar PV panels and flush solar thermal systems frequently to maximize your investment.
Waste water from a shower or washing machine can be used for irrigation. A great strategy is to install a grey water system to water your garden and trees and help conserve this precious resource.
Gas hot water heaters and tankless hot water heaters need to be flushed frequently to keep them running efficiently. Electric hot water heaters also should be flushed, but sediment has less of an impact on their effectiveness.
